Foundational Products is part of Technology, a new function within Volvo Group Digital & IT with a big stake in the Group’s digital transformation. Technology will modernize Volvo’s core digital backbone making it a platform for digital products. 

Foundational Products are responsible for API & Integration, DevSecOps, Cloud and Development Platforms. Our Foundational IT products are used by digital product teams and enable them and their products to outperform Volvo’s competitors. Our digital talents develop capabilities and digital technologies to improve business performance and create value for the Group with speed and at scale.

The Cloud Foundational Product is now looking for a FinOps Tech Lead

In this role, you will report to the Manager Cloud Adoption within Foundational Product Cloud. As FinOps Tech Lead, you will work in close partnership with the FinOps Digital Product Owner (DPO), who leads the FinOps stable team. While your formal reporting line is to the Cloud Adoption Manager, your day-to-day collaboration will be with the FinOps DPO, ensuring strong alignment between technical implementation and product vision.

We are looking for an energetic person that will be able to work as part of our internal Cloud Adoption Team.

You will bring deep FinOps technical knowledge and expertise to the FinOps stable team, acting as the technical authority and mentor for all aspects of cloud financial management. Your role is pivotal in enabling the team to deliver on its objectives of financial accountability, cost optimization, and value realization across Volvo’s cloud platforms, with a primary focus on Azure.

You will be Coach, Consultant and Trusted Advisor for many development teams inside Volvo Group who are adopting Cloud platforms. In this role you will collaborate with multiple applications and multiple projects teams working on launching new services or updating their existing applications.
You will be an evangelist for FinOps practices and technologies, influencing the direction of future financial management tools and strategies used by Volvo to optimize cloud value.

To be successful in this position we believe you have:

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Azure infrastructure, administration, and architecture
• Deep understanding of the overall Azure landscape (certification is a plus)
• Strong experience implementing and operating FinOps frameworks in large-scale cloud environments, including driving financial accountability, cost allocation, showback/chargeback, and cloud spend optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and visualize large volumes of cloud usage and cost data using tools such as Power BI, Excel, or similar platforms.
• Advanced experience in Azure PowerShell and scripting (e.g., Python or Bash)
• Experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports to support financial transparency and decision-making for cloud stakeholders.
• Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Azure resources: PaaS services, networking, security, policies, monitoring, automation (ARM, Terraform, PowerShell).
• Ability to provide technical guidance and hands-on involvement in complex or demanding projects that involve Azure Cloud or Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Knowledge of cloud architecture application hosting for both hybrid and cloud-native solutions
• Knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) in relation to application hosted in Cloud.
• Experience with Azure policies for compliance and governance
• Knowledge of source code management best practices and tools (Git/Azure DevOps)
• Experience with Agile development workflow and DevOps way of working and tools (CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub as mandatory)
• Proven communication, presentation and writing skills including ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation
• Ability to translate company directives into tangible technical and financial requirements, and to communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English
