What will you be doing?
Working with one of the world's most iconic brands, you will lead the Volvo Academy and drive the competence development strategy across Latin America. Based in Curitiba, Paraná, this position reports to the Head of Volvo Academy / relevant regional leader.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead and empower a high-performance team located in Brazil and Hispanic-speaking Latin America countries.
- Define and execute the Competence Development strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regional objectives.
- Develop and implement learning strategies, frameworks and governance to strengthen technical, commercial and leadership capabilities across the dealer network and internal organization.
- Drive competence management processes, including training needs analysis, learning paths, certification programs and competence assessments.
- Ensure the design, implementation and continuous improvement of learning solutions, leveraging digital learning, blended methodologies and modern instructional approaches.
- Monitor competence development KPIs, learning effectiveness and business impact, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Build strong partnerships with Business Areas, HR, Product, Service, Sales, Dealers and Global stakeholders to ensure learning initiatives support business performance.
- Lead regional competence projects and collaborate with global initiatives, ensuring alignment with Volvo Group standards and best practices.
- Foster a learning culture that supports innovation, continuous improvement and organizational capability building.
- Manage the Volvo Academy portfolio, priorities, resources and budget to ensure efficient delivery and high-quality learning experiences.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Senior leadership experience in Learning & Development, Competence Development, Corporate Education or Academy Management, preferably within industrial, automotive, transportation or related sectors.
- Proven Leadership Skills: Strong ability to inspire, coach and develop high-performing teams, including multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Human Resources, Education or related field. Postgraduate degree or MBA is desirable.
- Learning Expertise: Solid knowledge of adult learning principles, capability building, instructional design, learning technologies and competence management.
- Business Acumen: Ability to translate business strategy into development initiatives that generate measurable business impact.
- Analytical Skills: Experience using learning metrics, competence data and performance indicators to support decision-making.
- Communication: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, influencing and presentation skills.
- Languages: Fluent English and Spanish.
