What you will do
- As a Design Checker, you will operate in an engineering support function with the purpose of assisting engineers in their design work.
- You will also ensure accurate release of technical documentation including all applicable company standards and specifications.
- You will support Vehicle Engineering functions including Chassis, Cab and Electrical, in their documentation activities.
- Mentoring in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD & T) as part of daily work.

Our team, Product Structure & Simulation, has the responsibility for vehicle projects and product documentation quality for the Volvo brands. We develop new and advanced vehicle systems for our future trucks, while continually adapting our current products to different market demands. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field required;
- Strong experience in Mechanical Engineering, product development or related field;
- High level of experience working with GD & T principles and familiar with ASME Y14.5M-1994, or later and/or ISO1101:2013 and associated standards, or later;
- Familiar with product engineering drawing details, 3-D product definition, and release processes;
- Knowledge of part manufacturing and assembly methods;
- Inspection techniques experience is a plus;
- CAD experience with CATIA V5 and/or Pro-E/CREO is a plus;
- Fluent in English (Written/Spoken);
