We are now looking for a Senior Commodity Buyer to join our global Electromobility Purchasing Team. In this role, you will help define sourcing strategies that drive innovation, performance and long-term business value.
As part of a global network, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Volvo CE (Purchasing, Technology, Uptime & Productivity) as well as suppliers and other Volvo Group entities, such as Volvo Energy, Group Trucks Purchasing and Volvo Penta.
Based in Sweden, you will work closely with Global Commodity Managers, primarily within Li-Ion and Charging, and lead regional sourcing activities and projects. Your contribution will be key to developing and implementing sourcing strategies, securing a strong commercial setup and fostering solid relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Main responsibilities
• Lead and manage purchasing activities within New Product Development projects
• Drive regular supplier meetings and secure alignment with Volvo CE standards (quality, cost, logistics, sustainability)
• Identify, evaluate, develop and manage suppliers to meet business needs
• Contribute to and co-develop sub-commodity strategies together with Commodity Managers
• Consolidate product platform needs (prototypes, volumes) and collaborate closely with local site buyers for new product introductions
• Coordinate with Volvo Group stakeholders (Energy, Trucks, Penta) to manage shared group suppliers
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support market intelligence efforts on emerging technologies
• Collaborate with Supplier Development Engineers to ensure supplier industrialization readiness (PPAP and APQP Compliance)

We believe you qualify in all or most of the following areas:
• University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or similar
• Around 5 years, or more, of experience in Purchasing, Project Management or Business Development
• Strong communication, negotiation and project management skills
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results in fast-changing environments
• Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus
• Solid understanding of New Product Development and Project Management processes
• Experience in the Construction Equipment or Automotive industry, especially within Electromobility, Li-Ion batteries, Charging or Power Converters, is an advantage
