At the Electronics Engineering (EE) section we’re responsible for the electronic hardware and software in the Volvo Groups Trucks Electromobility deliveries. We are accountable for the life cycle management of our delivery, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase. 

 

In our Battery Management System (BMS)-HW team we work with electronics inside our battery packs. The team runs an agile-inspired set-up where we build on team members strengths and complement each other to become a successful team and have fun at work.

 

What will you do?

In this position, Global Component Responsible, you will break down system requirements and oversee, and in some cases do, the technical definition, validation, and delivery of electronics hardware supplied by partner companies or internally designed. If internally designed, you will be an integral part of the design team. Since we do development in a collaborative way, you will work together with internal stakeholders to set targets and follow up deliveries to ensure that we get the quality products that our customers deserve and expect. Your responsibility will involve being an interface with design engineers and/or partner companies and keep the daily/weekly contact while working with our internal project managers, architects, system engineers, electronic designers, among others and in some cases also doing electronic HW design.

 


Who are you?
As a person you are a team player and a problem solver, you drive for results and easily break down problems and have no issue communicating it forward to the team or project. You are quick to pick up technical details, structured, and have a good sense of planning both your own work but also supporting your teammates and the projects. You are curious and probably like to tinker with technology in your spare time. 

 

To succeed in the role Global Component Responsible for BMS-HW we believe that you have the following background:

•    An education in Engineering, preferably MSc Electrical Engineering/Power Electronics or equivalent in experience
•    5+ years’ experience in similar positions
•    Extensive experience in coordinating and cooperating with automotive electronic suppliers 
•    Knowledgeable & Experienced in DFMEA, SFMEA, 5-why, 8D-process, FUSA, and others
•    A long experience with a good track record in teamwork with co-workers. 

 

Merits
A very good understanding in Hazards when introducing and designing electronics in higher voltage applications

Experience with tools for design of electronics i.e. LTSpice, Altium.
