OT Security Trainee

Location:

Wroclaw, PL, 51-502

Position Type:  Student

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

What you will do

From the beginning, you’ll take part in Operational Technology security activities that protect our factories from real cyber threats.
Sounds serious? It is, but it’s also exciting, impactful and unlike a typical IT internship.

You will support activities such as:
OT Security Future State Design - Contributing to the development and enhancement of security roadmaps for industrial environments.
Risk Assessments - Identifying real threats to production lines, machines and OT networks.
Security Processes & Procedures - Helping create, refine and implement security processes tailored to industrial systems
Security Awareness - Supporting initiatives that build cybersecurity awareness in factories.
Security Reviews - Assisting in security assessments to ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and regulations, including the NIS2 Directive and ISO/IEC 27001
Technology Evaluation - Exploring new OT security technologies and assessing their potential use.
Cross-functional Collaboration - Working with engineering, automation, IT and production teams to align cybersecurity efforts across the organization.

You’ll learn directly from experts who protect Volvo’s global industrial operations every day.

Who are you?

We’re looking for people who want to start their cybersecurity journey exactly where technology meets real machines and real production. If you want to see how cyberattacks on factories look in the real world and learn how to stop them this program is for you.

• You are a 3rd, 4th or 5th year student, or a recent graduate.
• You’re available to start in January 2026
• You feel confident communicating in English.
• You’re passionate about cybersecurity - whether it’s ethical hacking, ICS, research or software development.
• You want to learn how to secure Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) even if this is completely new to you.
• You’re curious, proactive and excited to learn through hands-on challenges rather than textbook examples.

This program isn’t for someone who wants to “just try.” It’s for someone who wants to enter a niche, fast-growing area where skilled people are truly needed and become one of them.

What’s in it for you?

We give you access to a world most students never get to see - the cybersecurity of real factories, machines and production environments.

  • 12-month internship
  •  A dedicated mentor guiding your development from day one.
  •  Flexibility you need
  •  Growth of both technical and soft skills through training and international projects.
  •  Private medical care.
  •  A rare opportunity to join one of Volvo Group’s core security organizations — an ideal launchpad for your cybersecurity career.

If you want a strong start in cybersecurity, especially within ICS/OT, this is one of the best places you can be.
