Our mission is to design electrical components (mostly for low voltage in this case) throughout concept phase up to serial production and maintenance while optimizing demands on quality, deliveries, cost, and features.
The development work is run in an agile set up and you will be involved in the whole chain, from requirements setting, supplier evaluation, product development, industrialization, sales and to the aftermarket. The team in Gothenburg is a mix in age, gender, and nationality. Together we build an atmosphere where we help each other and enjoy working as a team.

The Engineering Graduate Program at Volvo Group Trucks Technology is a global 12-month program where you are offered the perfect mix of on-the-job learning and diverse training modules. You will get the chance to use and develop your technical and creative engineering skills, while gaining valuable experience working with real products on real business challenges. During the year you will engage in activities that will help you grow professionally and personally, developing strong communication and collaboration skills.
Besides your manager, who will guide and support you in your daily job, you will have a supportive network of peer graduates, colleagues across the globe, and senior leaders to help you excel. We hope you will learn as much from us as we will from you.
How you will make an impact
You will be responsible to develop electrical components including dimensioning activities for low voltage system. The role requires frequent communication with external suppliers regarding specifications and functionality. Depending on the current initiative portfolio and initiative phases, the focus for your work will vary but your main responsibility with the role is to:
• Initiate and develop design concepts to meet objectives set
• Be responsible for the technical requirements and participate in development of hardware together with our suppliers
• Securing Quality Delivery Cost and Features for the engineering task, meaning responsibility to coordinate and lead cross functional work
• Create, modify, and release product documentations
• Resolve quality issues in projects, in factories or in aftermarket

You have a deep interest in electrical components good communication skills which require that you are fluent in English, both written and spoken. You have the ability to work in a truly multicultural environment.
You meet the following requirements:
• You have a Master of Science in Electrical or Industrial Design Engineering or equivalent academic background or competencies.
• Strong interest in electrical hardware components, emerging technologies, and sustainability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
To qualify for the Engineering Graduate Program, you’ve completed a master’s degree prior to the start of the program but not more than 18 months ago. You should not have more than two years' full-time working experience in the field prior to starting. You also need to be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
