Location:

Arvika, SE, 671 30

Position Type:  Professional
Permanent/Temporary:  Permanent

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.

The role:

As an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer at Volvo Construction Equipment in Arvika, you will play a key role in leading, developing and challenging the business in the areas of occupational health and safety. You will enable us to strengthen the factory’s long-term health and safety efforts, guided by our principle of Safety First.

You will work in a manufacturing environment with complex production flows and a wide range of roles, which calls for a proactive and systematic approach to occupational health and safety. We offer a role that combines strategic and operational work, with a clear focus on development, change management and continuous improvement.

The role involves a broad range of contacts, at different levels across the organization and with external parties such as authorities and neighboring businesses. You will also be an important member of our Core Values network. This is a varied role in which you will lead and develop occupational health and safety work in Arvika in line with Volvo Group’s guidelines.

You will monitor legislation and regulations relating to occupational health and safety, keep the organization informed of changes, and act as the contact person for authorities on these matters. You will train, engage and follow up with the business to ensure compliance with legislation and regulations and support continuous improvement.

You will also support risk assessments, investigations into serious incidents, and take part in local and global forums across the Volvo Group.

You will join a small, committed team where you will have plenty of opportunity to make an impact. The role offers a high degree of independence and personal responsibility, alongside close collaboration with colleagues, managers and other functions. You will drive occupational health and safety issues, processes and development work forward, supported by a skilled network and an engaged manager. You will have the opportunity to combine strategic development with hands-on support to the business, helping create a safe and sustainable workplace for the future.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a university degree in occupational health and safety, or other education or experience that we consider equivalent. You have several years of experience in professional occupational health and safety work, preferably in an industrial environment. You have a strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, regulations and authority requirements. Experience leading people is an advantage.

You communicate fluently in both spoken and written Swedish and English, as the role involves many local and global contacts.

You are proactive and capable of seeing both the details and the big picture. You thrive in environments that are fast-paced and demanding—settings where you are encouraged to draw upon your full range of personal and professional capabilities. People listen to you because you bring facts, analysis, and proposed solutions to the table.

Experience with and a good understanding of ISO 45001 are considered an advantage. You are well placed to succeed in this role if you collaborate easily, work in a structured and systematic way, and show initiative and perseverance when facing challenges. It goes without saying that you are strongly motivated to help create a safe workplace where safety always comes first. In addition to your skills and experience, we will place great importance on your personal suitability for the role.

This is a full-time position based on-site in Arvika. Some travel may be required as part of your contribution to Volvo Group’s occupational health and safety network and community.
