Purpose/Description
This position operates in all phases of the Warehouse (Shipping/Receiving/Inventory Management), with a focus on heavy-duty core components. Responsible for all aspects of the DEX Warehouse area’s cores functions to support DEX operations, Volvo’s Core Management System (CMS) team and external customer requirements. This position supports the Warehouse goals which are rooted in the goals for DEX. The ideal candidate should have a documented history of growth and development in previous positions.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming items, package and locate to the correct destination
- Inspect, evaluate, identify, sort and process core parts received from multiple sources
- Document and classify cores accurately
- Organize and maintain inventory, including cycle counting, auditing and records management
- Perform all functions as required in Microsoft, DEX in-house and Mack/Volvo proprietary software
- Prepare cores for return, ensuring proper configuration, packaging and documentation according to vendor/customer guidelines
- Utilize hand, electric and pneumatic tools to adjust cores to their proper configuration
- Utilize lifting devices, pallet jacks and forklifts
- QC area as applicable
- Perform duties to support DEX goals and meet area KPIs
- Follow safety procedures when utilizing equipment and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner
- Support Warehouse operations as needed with special projects, stretch assignments and out of office coverage
- Crosstrain to function in all Warehouse activities
- Support all other DEX activities as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong technical expertise and knowledge of heavy-duty parts
- Extensive experience in inventory, warehouse or distribution environment
- Proficient in Microsoft office and demonstrated ability to learn PC based applications
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- High school degree or equivalent
- Ability to obtain in-house forklift certification
Physical Requirements
- Required to stand, reach, walk, and use hands to operate tools/controls
- Required to drive forklift license
- Required to sit, balance, and crouch
- Required to be able to lift 50lbs.
