What you will do
As the Contracts Director, you will be responsible for activities in the organization's contracts administration function on complex Government contracts. Oversee the preparation of proposals and negotiation and administration of contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements. Familiar with a variety of contractual concepts, practices, and procedures.
As the Director, you rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Core Responsibilities:
- Cradle to grave contract management including reviewing contract documents and advising management, internal organizations, and customers of contractual rights and obligations. Daily interaction with Government customer representatives is expected. Contract administration also includes compilation and analyses of data, maintenance of historical information, facilitation of proper shipment, billing, and payment collection, interfacing with customer representatives as required. Negotiation experience with contractual terms and pricing is required.
- Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, regulatory compliance and customer specifications.
- Proposal preparation will include examining proposal requirements and estimates, preparing bids, analyzing terms and conditions and other contractual documents such as Statements of Work or Specifications to evaluate risk, accuracy, and completeness to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, regulatory compliance and customer specifications.
- Coordinate internal audit programs, monitor overall audit findings to ensure coherence and that actions are taken in time. Compile and communicate audit status report, provide analysis from internal audit to management.
- Establish operational plans for contract programs. Developing and implementing new processes, standards, or operational plans that will have impact on the achievement of functional results. Requires communication with leadership.
- Duties also include the preparation of proprietary information agreements, teaming agreements, export licenses/agreements and various types of memoranda.

Critical Competencies:
- Applicant must be a self-starter with the ability to handle complex contracts with minimum supervision and have excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Applicant must demonstrate the skill and ability to perform complex tasks and must demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
- A working knowledge of FAR and DFARS as well as experience with different contract types including Firm Fixed Price, Cost Type and Time and Material contracts is required.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance required.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
