Reporting Line

This role will have a direct reporting line to the Head of DC Balikpapan and be part of the DC Balikpapan Management Team. At the same time, this role will also have a functional reporting to the Head of Business Control, Lyon & International (L&I) and be part of L&I Business Control community. This position will also act as the legal entity Finance Controller in Indonesia.

Responsibilities

Business Controller - Distribution Centre Balikpapan, Indonesia

  • Control - overall operational cost & drive the Strategy Roadmap activities and its implementation in collaboration with the team
  • Quality assures month-end closing and financial reporting process
  • Develop business plan/forecast and drive local management to achieve the business target
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives
  • Develop yearly standard cost/surcharge and comunicate with local Business Areas
  • Being a proactive finance business partner and able to bridge SO&T with other TD/BA/GFs.
  • Drive local internal control compliance
  • Drive financial investigation, find a business solution in compliance with the financial principles and able to give an advice back to the operation. Work together with the operation towards an improvement. 
  • Drive the Strategy Roadmap activities and its implementation in collaboration with team 

Legal Entity Financial Controller

  • Control of company financial statement compliance
  • Monitors financial performance, analyses profitability (by products/BA), and identified cost-saving opportunities
  • Prepares reports for stakeholders/board members, ensuring compliance with financial regulations & accounting standards
  • Providing financial, business, and strategic recommendations to the Legal Board & CMT leadership team
  • Developing internal controls, managing financial risks, and ensuring compliance with regulations

L&I Business Controller (regional responsibilities)

  • Drive smart analytics intiatives in Lyon & International Business Controller community, including BI development & office automation & digitalisation
  • Improvement of processes, methods and systems according to Business Control targets & strategies

Your critical skill sets for the position

  • You have a good ability to understand, interpret and communicate financial information in a clear and concise way.
  • You have a good analytical skill and able to see the bigger picture and understand the consequences of actions in day-to-day operation. You are able to translate the operations into financials.
  • You are able to drive an end-to-end improvement within a lean organisation. You are able to work in a cross-functional & multi-cultural setting, leaving the departmental silo behind.
  • You have a high degree of flexibility & ability to work simultaneously with a wide range of tasks in a structured mannger and deliver according to deadline.
  • Work proactively and take initiatives every day. You have to be a self-autonomous person, with high sense of responsibility and task ownership.
  • You should possess professional business communication skill, able to engage and drive people from different backgrounds.
  • Enjoys working with diverse people and functions.
  • Eager to assume leadership responsibilities, including the strategic oversight of Regional Distribution Center operations. 

Your qualification & competences

  • University degree in accounting/financial management/business administration.
  • Controlling/accounting background with experience in internal control.
  • Knowledge in SAP and accounting standards (IFRS).
  • Business acumen (including inventory management and cost controlling).
  • Experience with smart analytics tool (such as PowerBI, QlikSense, Power Automate, Microsoft 365 etc.) is a strength. A willingness to learn and develop career in the digital journey is required. 
  • Proficiency in English in required, both written and spoken
