Overview:
Volvo Energy is seeking a skilled Data Analyst with experience in analytical and data-driven solutions to enhance battery management and optimize operations for its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse battery usage patterns throughout their lifecycle and contribute to the development of algorithms aimed at optimizing battery health and mitigating risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build internal analytical capabilities at Volvo Energy.
Required Experience:
- Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python, and extensive experience with data exploration, visualization, and pattern recognition.
- Strong hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms, including Regression, Classification, Tree-based methods, Clustering, Time Series Analysis, and Deep Learning techniques (LSTM, GRU, N-BEATS, etc), and Reinforcement Learning
- Practical experience in all stages of machine learning workflows: data ingestion, preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, and validation.
- Prior experience with model deployment, monitoring, and retraining is highly desirable.
- Experience in Prognostics and Health Management (PHM), Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD), and Predictive Maintenance is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure and Databricks) and BI tools (PowerBI preferred).
- Experience with SQL and RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and Spark SQL.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Spark is preferred.
- Prior experience with application design/website design(html, css) is preferred.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in data science and machine learning.
- Interest in understanding Li-ion battery technology and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

- Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively with others.
