Business Strategy Senior Manager GTP APAC

GTP APAC is an organization within GTP that takes an end-to-end responsibility for purchasing related activities in the APAC region. The countries in scope are China, South Korea & South-East Asia, Australia, South Africa and India with the GTP APAC headquarters based in Bangalore, India.

 

Mission

As Business Strategy Senior Manager, GTP APAC, you drive the overall development of the GTP APAC organization together with Purchasing leadership team. You will lead in your area of scope, and secure the implementation, usage and continuous improvements of global ways of working in full alignment with the GTP APAC leadership team.

 

 Reporting To:  Head of Group Trucks Purchasing APAC

 

Location:  Bangalore India

 

 Main Responsibilities

  • Be a member in GTP APAC leadership teams and in an active way contribute to the development of the departments
  • Manage annual business planning/strategy cycle including coordination of timing, topics, involvement, alignment and preparations for business strategy meetings.
  • Develop, implement, and drive the long-term planning process.
  • Define the strategy- and operational plans (i.e. what strategies and plans should there be) and follow up on the execution of it
  • Track the major milestones and project deliverables within GTP APAC Purchasing
  • Lead in formulating the GTP APAC purchasing Business plan
  • Lead and drive strategic projects for the management team within GTP APAC.
  • Drive Knowledge Management development and deployment
  • Together with the Communication partner lead the communication within GTP APAC Purchasing with GTP EMT, GTP Business Strategy network, GTP Communications & Brands EMT.Work with continuous improvements in GTP APAC Purchasing.
  • With the team take an active part of the strategic GTP APAC Purchasing activities
  • Lead the various management coordination activities for the GTP APAC Purchasing Management team, such as meeting and agenda planning, working closely with the Executive Assistant and lead the Business Plan progression, etc.
  • Work in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values.

 

Competence & Experience

  • University degree in Engineering/technology and/or Business Administration
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Communicate effectively by using modern methods and be able to influence a variety of stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Knowledgeable in current and future business trends, technology and markets
  • Strong overall purchasing knowledge.
  • Able to execute in a global organization
  • Face problems and act quickly and directly. Provide direct & actionable feedback
  • Able to handle uncertainty and the unexpected. Holds things together during tough times
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft 365 and other tools such as AI Copilot
  • Take good decisions in line with internal stakeholders, with risks and opportunities and alternative solutions in mind
  • Able to manage diversity and offer opportunities for personal/professional development
  • Able to build an effective team with a common objective and strong morale and spirit
