We are now, to our team in Sweden, recruiting several certification and compliance engineers, seniors as well as juniors to our Complete Vehicle certification and compliance department. The position offers a stimulating and dynamic work environment, with a high amount of interaction with colleagues throughout the Volvo Group, external partners, and authorities on a global level.
About Vehicle Certification & Compliance
Vehicle Certification & Compliance is part of Complete Vehicle (CV) Organization within Group Trucks Technology (GTT). At Complete Vehicle, we manage areas from product design & feature development, verification and validation, certification, aftermarket, customer quality services.
The Vehicle Certification and Compliance teams covers EU/UNECE regulations and over 50 requirement areas and acts as a bridge between design engineer, manufacturing, and sales.
The certification and compliance department consists of three teams:
- Vehicle Certification team Gothenburg
- Vehicle Compliance team Gothenburg
- Vehicle Certification and Compliance Lyon
We are now looking for Lead certification engineer to our India office.
The certification and compliance process spans across Volvo Group and gives great opportunities to meet and interact with colleagues world-wide. Our team plays an important role in securing that our products meet intended performance and feature readiness – contributing to the success and productivity for our customers!
Job Description
The Certification and Compliance Engineer will support India market in close co-operation with VECV (VE Commercial Vehicles Limited) Volvo use for certification of trucks to India market.
- Manage contacts and negotiations with authorities.
- Develop, plan and manage the certification activity plan to ensure that type approval (vehicle, systems and components) are completed according to plan.
- Validate the consistency between the Certification/Information document and the legal data in Volvo system.
- Interpret regulations and legal requirements to support the breakdown to technical requirements.
- Prepare and submit certification information document to VECV.
- This role is part of a network with Engineering functions within Group Truck Technology Bangalore.
Qualification:
- Bachelors/Masters' degree in a Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive
Experience - Work
- 5+ years of technical work in the automotive business
- Used to read and interpret regulations Experience in working with IT tool development from a business perspective.
- 3 +years of product development experience in as e.g. design engineer or test engineer
- Used to lead meetings and drive changes.
- Ability to communicate with many people and functions using oral as well as other presentation skills.
- Experience in working and communicating with authorities.
- Experience in negotiation
Knowledge
- Complete truck knowledge and applications including customer usage.
- Knowledge about automotive regulations
- Good understanding of truck development in both SW and HW
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish and English
- Good knowledge continuous improvement and analytical tools
- Good computer skills in e.g., MS office applications
- Preferable knowledge in internal IT tools. e.g., Kola, EDB, and PROTUS
