Digital Delivery is a new function within the Volvo Group Digital & IT that aims to identify and execute on new digital initiatives and modernize existing solutions across the Volvo Group brands. What you will do
As Chapter Lead Salesforce you are a technically skilled domain expert with the additional responsibility as line manager. You will contribute to common ways of working across other Salesforce Chapters through methods and best practices according to standards, technologies, and trends. Your main responsibility will be to act as a Tech lead in one of the Stable teams while managing a team of Salesforce engineers at your location.

We are seeking a highly experienced Salesforce professional to serve as both a Technical Lead and Salesforce CoE Leader. This role combines deep technical architecture expertise with governance and strategic leadership, ensuring Salesforce is adopted effectively, securely, and at scale across the enterprise.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the Volvo Group to be in line with changing business needs. You will create the right environment for your team members to develop competencies and skills, coach people, fostering an outside-in view and leveraging the network across the group.

 

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Design and govern end-to-end Salesforce architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and compliance.
  • Architect integrations using MuleSoft, APIs, Platform Events, and event-driven patterns.
  • Define and communicate the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and Salesforce best practices.
  • Conduct feasibility assessments, evaluating risks, constraints, and team capabilities for realistic delivery.
  • Ensure effective data model design, automation framework, and security architecture.
  • Define and implement DevOps, CI/CD, and release management standards in collaboration with IT operations.
  • Oversee solution architecture reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, governance, and security standards.
  • Provide architectural guidance for the adoption of Agentforce (AI), capabilities, and automation frameworks.
  • Drive platform adoption for advanced capabilities including Territory Management, CRMA (Einstein Analytics), Backup Solutions, Salesforce Maps, Agentforce.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on Salesforce ecosystem strategy and innovation.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and code/architecture reviews to ensure high engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business priorities.

Salesforce Chapter Leadership

  • Actively contribute in Salesforce Center of Excellence (CoE) as the authority for governance, quality, and innovation.
  • Build and execute the Salesforce strategy and roadmap, aligned with enterprise digital transformation.
  • Define and enforce Golden Path standards, Quality by Design, and best practices for development, integration, and operations.
  • Coordinate Salesforce licensing strategy and optimization across business units.
  • Evaluate and introduce new Salesforce features, AppExchange apps, and industry accelerators.
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing, training, and capability building across teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead, develop and attract a team of talented Salesforce engineers, supporting their personal growth and challenges on assignments
  • Develop and execute the competence strategy for Salesforce engineers within your team, meeting with chapter members to discuss and drive excellence in areas such as best practices, frameworks and tools
  • Manage capacity planning, ensuring short and long-term competence and capacity of the Salesforce technology & Solution Consultant
  • Be involved in day-to-day working in delivery or product teams or contributing to an assignment and also act as a Tech Lead for the Stable Team , basically a go to person for all the technical roadmap of the product.
  • Own and Manage work packages along with employees and consultants
  • Play an active role in building and driving an active Salesforce Community of Practice   
  • Balance your time between line manager and team member

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in the Salesforce ecosystem with a strong background in enterprise architecture and solution design.
  • Deep expertise in Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, CRMA (Einstein Analytics), Salesforce Maps, and Territory Management.
  • Hands-on experience with Agentforce (AI), MuleSoft integrations, Platform Events, and event-driven architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of the Salesforce data model, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and API design.
  • Proven experience in CoE leadership, governance, licensing management, and strategy building.
  • Salesforce certifications preferred ( but not mandatory) :
    • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) (or pursuing)
    • Application/System Architect

 

You will be part of the Salesforce Leadership Team and report to the Head of Platforms Chapter.

You need to have several years of experience as a Salesforce practitioner and be a technical expert in the Salesforce domain. That includes to be highly skilled in Salesforce, including related technologies and frameworks Demonstrated leadership qualities to coach people or a few years´ experience of leading people, preferably in the Salesforce Domain is also crucial. Working with agile methodologies comes naturally to you.  

 

Other skills:

  • Relevant Salesforce certifications based on experience but not mandatory
  • Relevant University degree or similar  
  • Excellent proficiency in English is a requirement 
  • Previous experience in rolling out the Salesforce products.
  • Infrastructure management and security awareness experience is good to have
  •  Secure agile ways of working
