The Purchasing Strategy & Digitalization (PS&D) function within Volvo Group Purchasing (GTP) is a Centre of Excellence. We are responsible for driving and facilitating the strategic direction of purchasing on behalf of Executive Management Team.
PS&D are, together with relevant line functions, driving efficiency within digitalization, governance, harmonization, group synergies, continuous improvements, and digital & IT projects to enable business value. We work proactively with change management and transformation in collaboration with GTP line functions.
Head of Purchasing Strategy & Digitalization is also hosting Volvo Group Purchasing India organization on behalf of CPO of Volvo Group & Head of GTP.

You work with a passionate team of purchasing professionals having a good understanding of the dynamic environment with fast-moving technology, new business models, varying demands from customers, and a full focus on quality, safety, and sustainability among others.
As a Buyer, you are accountable for the QDCFTSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, Risk Management) of the supplier base on your segments. You are responsible to make sure that the segment business plan is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSR performance by using the tools, methodologies, and purchasing/cross-functional network.

Main Responsibilities
- Responsible to make sure that the segment strategy is implemented through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCFTSR performance by using the tools and purchasing/cross functional network.
- Actively participate in the development of the global and regional Segment Business Plan
- To secure the outcome of sourcing in a contractual way, all contracts are approved and signed
- Ensure valid agreements with all suppliers in production and extend contracts on time before expiry through Deep dive methodologies to ensure right QDCFTSR with existing suppliers
- Challenge, Negotiate, & Report changes after contract/PO signature and ensure fulfilment of project targets.
- Secure Suppliers understand and comply to Volvo requirements/expectations and procedures
- Perform updates of Supplier classification or categorization
- Perform updates of Payment Terms, Currency Terms etc. in line with Group Policies
- Drive and secure KPI target fulfilment Ex: Lead and Drive cost reduction activities with suppliers & stakeholders to meet all commercial targets
- Act as a Supplier Host & Drive Regional/Local Stakeholder Network
- PR to PO processing: Scope understanding & alignment with stake holders , negotiations with suppliers etc..
- Manage business, projects & operation review meetings with suppliers and stakeholders
- Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
- New Parma / Vendor creations after due diligence & supplier evaluation.
- Drive improvements like catalogues or automation
- Drive, Scout and implement transformation topics ex: new business models, new technologies, sustainability, and digitalization etc.
Competence & Experience
- BE/B.Tech in Mech /Industrial Engg/Automobile Engineering or relevant supply chain degree
- 5-10 Years of experience within Indirect purchasing
- Experience in segments like security , facility management , waste/scrap management , temp labour services , MRO
- Continuous Improvement, Excellence, innovative & Solution mindset
- Knowledge in Strategic sourcing and supplier development
- Knowledge in project management.
- Market knowledge and industry connect
