Introduction

You are a quick and adaptable learner. You are also passionate about storytelling through data analysis, continuous improvement, data quality ownership and being a champion of IT capability expansion! If this describes you, we have an exciting position in a high-performance and impactful team which will strive for your betterment.

Who’s your new team?

We are a tight-knit group with the sole mission of delivering the best supply chain solutions to our Volvo production plants and Distribution Centers. With our can-do attitude and critical thinking team members, we continue to push the envelope of supply chain design, automation, visualization, and lean thinking.

We work with a suite of software to create a logistics “digital twin” of our transport system. We work with our suppliers to secure digital communication via standard EDI integrations. We handle everything from design (Oracle Transport Management, SAP and Volvo IT systems) to data collection (Excel, SQL etc.), to data visualization (Power BI, Qlik etc.). Our goal is to ensure smooth flow of information between these systems and our stakeholders so that quality, low cost, and environmentally conscious transport is secured.

This position can work out of Bengaluru, India location and will report to Value Chain Development and Analytics Manager.

What’s your role in the team?

You will oversee onboarding of new EDI trading partners (i.e. carriers & suppliers), maintain EDI maps and workflows, and monitor daily operations to resolve issues proactively. The role involves coordinating with IT, Supply Chain, and Finance on EDI changes, ensuring compliance with customer/supplier requirements, and designing lean processes for seamless data flow. You will also address system failures or performance gaps and lead efforts with internal and external IT teams to restore or enhance system capabilities.

You will be responsible for creating systems and processes to ensure smooth flow of data through our IT solutions using lean principles and ensuring the quality of network design by managing any system failures or underperformance. When disturbances happen or additional system capabilities are needed, you will lead our team’s efforts and work with IT to restore/increase systems capabilities.

You will aggregate data from several sources (SQL, Azure DB, Web etc.) to create dashboards, visualizations and applications which will inform existing and future logistics network design. You will do this through direct data connections or through process automation and Diagnostic/Descriptive statistics. The tools of the trade are the following (but not limited to): Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, UI Path, Qlik etc.

Who are you?

We are looking for candidates with the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, IT, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with large data sets in SQL or any other database management systems
  • 2+ experience with EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and key transactions
  • Strong mapping and integration skills (XML, JSON, flat files, API/REST, SFTP/AS2)
