We are looking for a Field Quality Engineer & Data Analyst for our Operations team that is highly motivated to apply their expertise and knowledge in finding innovative and cost effective means to improve the product and parts quality.
This position will require you to think with a systemic view that focuses on the customer and business needs. You will work collaboratively with the different stakeholders in operations, purchasing, technology and sales to ensure Bangalore product always meets customer satisfactions. In your work you will embrace all three principles of the Volvo CE philosophy: Flow, Continuous Improvement, and Perform & Develop.
Responsibility
- Lead comprehensive data collection strategies from diverse applications and software daily to capture field quality data.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis and interpretation of large datasets to identify critical trends, patterns and actionable insights related to product performance and field failures.
- Perform root cause analysis on field failures and recurring issues, applying advanced statistical methods and data-driven approaches.
- Provide data for Designing and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize key field quality metrics, failure trends and overall performance indicators for Quality Department.
- Develop and deploy predictive models and algorithms to anticipate potential field quality issues and enhance business decisions.
- Collaborate closely with the IT team to identify opportunities and implement AI-driven solutions for automating mundane tasks and improving efficiency across operations department.
- Guide CFT to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights / reports (interactive Power BI dashboards) with in OPS to continuously track KPI’s such as COPQ, Productivity and TOC.
- Visit field and lead investigations and corrective actions for product quality issues and customer-reported concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Participate in Design Review meeting to integrate field feedback into design/manufacturing, conduct Product and In-Process audits and manage documentation.
- Continuously stay updated of emerging trends and technologies in data science and analytics to enhance analytical capabilities.
Skills Needed:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to conduct field investigations and assessments.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean principles)
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) with a data-driven approach.
- Strong command of statistical analysis techniques (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression analysis, control charts) relevant to quality improvement and failure analysis.
Needed relevant experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 02-05 years of experience in a Quality engineering role, preferably in CE industry.
- Experience in conducting field investigations and resolving quality issues.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and methodologies.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
