About the Role
We are seeking a talented Data Architect and Modeler to develop and govern consistent, scalable data architecture for Volvo Group Master Data Management. In this role, you will create and evolve enterprise-level data models, ensure consistency and accuracy across domains, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Volvo Group’s ambition to become a truly data-driven company.
What you will do
- Define the data architecture strategy and technical roadmap for Master Data, aligned with business objectives and Volvo design principles.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performing data architecture frameworks, and apply governance processes to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
- Map business concepts and source data to the Teradata mLDM structure to accelerate development in priority areas.
- Own and evolve the Volvo Group Data Model (VGDM) for Unified Data Platform, including lifecycle management, scope boundaries, and backlog prioritization.
- Lead the design of physical data models aligned with conceptual, logical and physical models on VGDM, and ensure effective integration of data from multiple sources for analytics and decision-making.
- Review and integrate model changes with strong quality controls, ensuring alignment across models, glossary, and governance.
- Recommend improvements to data designs and data flows.
- Drive adoption of approved technologies and improve data capabilities in partnership with the central platform organization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define data architecture standards and ensure alignment across engineering, analytics, and application development.
Who are you?

- You have over 10 years of experience in data modeling, with a strong grasp of both normalized and de-normalized models.
- You are proficient in data analysis, familiar with the Teradata Vantage Data Model (or similar), and can work in an agile environment.
- You have knowledge of Master Data Management and hands on experience of Product domain
- You have a university degree or equivalent and several years of experience as a data architect practitioner especially in Azure's full suite of services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and practical understanding of DBT Framework.
The right candidate can think and act strategically, operate tactically, and implement change effectively, managing change priorities in a business-focused, fact-based, and collaborative way to achieve real impact.
As this is a leading role, there will be next to the technical focus, also a strong focus on soft skills. We expect someone very structured and works fact-based and can defend her/his points of view to challenging stakeholders.
