Digital Product Owner - Fuel & Environment

The Position

As a Digital Product Owner (DPO) for a team in Fuel & Environment, you will manage a strategically important product. This product is designed to support Fleet managers and Drivers in achieving efficiency and enabling safety while driving. 

You will own and drive the product roadmap and ensure we meet expectations from business stakeholders to engineers. With focus on vehicle efficiency and safety, you will guide the product through all stages, from concept to delivery, including budget forecasting and follow-up, ensuring great value is delivered.  

 

Key responsibilities

Roadmap & Backlog management: In close dialogue with users of the UI Framework and stakeholders from our different business areas and with their input prioritize the team’s back log and align roadmaps. You will make sure that the team understand our users’ needs, our business strategy, objectives and technology.  

Collaboration and Communication: You will act as a bridge between the business stakeholders and the development team. You will foster a collaborative environment, building strong relationships across departments and being highly communicative. Being an outgoing person with good abilities in building and maintaining strong relationships. 

Ownership: You will take full ownership of the product, making continuous improvements in the team's way of working, while displaying the owner’s mentality. You will establish scalable, reusable systems and tools to streamline and reduce complexity. 

Maintain a close dialogue with your team manager to support the growth and development of team members. Furthermore, you will regularly touch base with your manager regarding the vision and budget of the team to align strategic priorities. 

Cross Functional Leader: You will lead, plan and report the ongoing work in relevant forums and communities. In the team you will also drive requirements together with the Business Analyst, the team and the stakeholders. You will contribute and drive common topics in the product team and the Digital Product Manager fora. 

End-2-End: Our product has dependency to other products and services teams. Expectations include driving priority for other teams who need to be involved and together with other Product owners/managers, part of theE2E delivery, be proactive and secure that the underlaying components strategy supports the E2E strategy. Be responsible to continuously make sure competitor and market analysis is done for your product.

You will be part of the core product management team in Fuel & Environment. We are a team of Developers and testers, BA, Architect and Digital Product owners who work together to create great results. We are using up-to-date technologies to deliver a modern micro service-based service platform hosted in the cloud. We use agile methods and are adopting the DevSecOps model. We want to set a new standard for Fleet efficiency and driver safety, speed to market and customer value. Your profile

We value your personality, passion, and ability to drive a product that delivers tangible results. You are structured, driven, an excellent communicator and importantly have an ownership mindset with great relationship building skills. 

On the professional level, you need to have demonstrated experience managing complete product lifecycles for software products in automotive or similar industrial domains, preferably with companies like Volvo or equivalent OEMs 

On strategic and business skills, you should have a strong business understanding, stakeholder management and good with market research such as user research, market analysis, and competitive intelligence to make informed product decisions. 

On interpersonal skills, you need to have a strong collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve their full potential and drive collective success 

On analytical and problem solving, you need to be good with critical thinking and can analyze complex problems, prioritize features, and make trade-off decisions under uncertainty. 

Additionally, you should have basic project management skills - understanding of project planning, resource allocation, risk management and delivery timelines.
