Position: ExcelHER- CAD Design Engineer 

ROLE DESCRIPTION: 

  • Expertise in design and development of casted/forged metallic parts, pipes, brackets, handling supplier parts etc. 

  • Ensure design correctness and completeness for all design releases within the area of responsibility. 

  • Aide and support preparation of Engineering Design documents, for example 3D and 2D including CAD layouts (as per Volvo standards). 

  • Create and review technical drawings using GD&T, satisfying Form, Fit and Functional needs of design. 

  • Provide solutions from concept to industrialization phases of varying projects.  

  • Be able to perform packaging studies and propose intelligent design solutions to support Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature and Sustainability aspects. 

SKILLS:

  • Excellent in Creo Parametric 10 (Solid and Surface modelling, handling large assemblies, Sheetmetal modelling, Detailing, Piping and Cabling), Creo View, Windchill 

  • High demonstration of 3D modelling techniques ranging from medium to very complex cad geometries (inclusive of surfacing also) 

  • Strong GD&T application knowledge in designs proposed. 

  • Experience in handling supplier geometries (usage of Creo-IDD workbench added advantage) 

  • Strong in Engineering fundamentals involving complete development loop for projects. Having profound Powertrain / Internal Combustion Engine knowledge would be merit 

  • Good Knowledge of the materials and quality tools (SFMEA, DfaM, DFMEA, RCA, etc) 

  • Strong and fluent communication skills. 

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Should be able to work as CAD Engineer with other CAD Engineers. Plan, lead and co-ordinate design & packaging studies through all of project phase and be responsible for digital mock-up correctness. 

  • Ensure the deliveries are made as per the requirements meeting timelines. 

  • Communicate relevant design and cad proposals to counterparts, clarify requirements and deliver as per needs of projects. 

  • Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to meet shared objectives. 

  • Recognized as a dedicated person with the player mindset, accountable and person to reach for jobs handled. Should be able to bring more value and experiences in team. 

  • Should be well-prepared person with high technical, Design and CAD knowledge. Aide for capitalising knowledge and methods preparations in projects involved. 

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • 8-10 years of automotive experience preferably in Powertrain industry 

  • BE/ BTech / MTech/MS in Mechanical Engineering
