About the Position
As a Tool Design Engineer, you will work closely with Plant Manufacturing Engineering team, Plant Virtual Manufacturing team to align and deliver the tool design solutions for upcoming Product and Process Projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Investigate production equipment solutions and develop new or modify existing equipment designs
- Design, develop and implement mechanical equipment and tools, layouts and simulation models
- Develop and maintain standards within the virtual area
- Contact with equipment stakeholders and collecting requirements
- Contact with suppliers on digital model issues, manufacturability of tools and other requirements collection and align with the same.
Authorities
- Escalate problems to team leaders and project managers
- Plans and performs own tasks
- Follow up and control work performed by suppliers
Requirements:
Education and experience
- Diploma with Tool Design / B.Tech in Mechanical Engg.
- 4+ years of Tool design experience from the manufacturing industry
- Work exposure in BIW is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Good knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly Process
- Good understanding of Engineering Drawing reading, Drawing standards.
- Good knowledge and skills in digital tools (Creo/CATIA/3DX/Process Simulator) in the Virtual area
