We are pleased to launch the Excelher program – the career returnship program at Volvo Group in India. The program is for women who have been on a career break for a year or more. This is our step towards empowering women to relaunch their professional journey after their absence from the workplace due to personal commitments. Exciting work assignments have been identified which you can refer to in the list below.
The assignments are for a tenure of 9 months. The participant of this program would have access to professional development programs, mentoring assistance by a business leader, apart from the experience of working with people from different functions/technologies/culture.

Expectations
Preferred Industries:
- Automotive/Locomotive/Aerospace.
- Tier 1 Supplier (exposure in seats/wipers/mirrors/lighting systems/steering system is a plus)
- Service Industries connected to above domain.
Experienced Engineer: Concepts and Advance Engineering (3-5 years of Experience)
Area: (Design group specific)
Interior SIPD (seats and controls)
Roles and responsibility:
Concept creation for Advanced Engineering
- Conceptual thinking.
- Knowledge on any of these systems- seats/wipers/mirrors/lighting systems/steering system is desired
- Experience working with suppliers and multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge on advanced materials and advanced manufacturing methods is a plus
Proficiency in designing Plastic/Sheetmetal parts working with injection mould and Press tool, blanking, and forming (desired)
- Selection or evaluating the material based on the applications.
- Design for manufacturing, Assembly and Services.
Knowledge of Plastic/ Sheetmetal part manufacturing Process (desired)
- Tooling, Injection, Blow moulding, Vacuum forming.
- Press tool, blanking and forming
- Plastic part/Sheetmetal design consideration.
- Plastic//Sheetmetal parts secondary operations.
- Knowledge about proto manufacturing methods.
Proficiency in CATIA V5 is must.
- Part modelling<>Surfacing<>Assembly<>Drawing and detailing and Assemblies.
- Geometry: Draft analysis, Plastic part tolerancing, GD&T applications.
Proficiency in Documentation and Release process.
- Assembly documentation.
- BoM preparation.
- PLM/Team centre.
- CAD releases
Competency.
- Mechanical Engineer with relevant working experience.
- Good knowledge in CAD tools.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills
