About the team:

The group comprises passionate and enthusiastic engineers who are responsible for designing, developing, and delivering projects in Powertrain Installation within the Chassis Engineering Department. Our main aim as the Powertrain Installation team at Volvo is to develop robust solutions and ensure high quality that meets demands and satisfies customers. Customer success is our core value.

This position will report to the Group Manager – Fuel & Exhaust in CSETA, Chassis Engineering Bangalore.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for designing components, defining their functional and installation requirements, and ensuring they meet vehicle-level specifications.
  • Your work will involve frequent interaction with various departments within Volvo. You will have your own areas of responsibility and collaborate with cross-functional teams and peers from other groups. Additionally, you will interface with stakeholders such as Powertrain Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Aftermarket.
  • You will collaborate with component owners to address quality issues, utilizing simulation and physical testing to verify and validate root causes.
  • You will prepare engineering reports based on test and simulation outcomes and review these with the system architect and cross-functional teams.
  • You may also support global delegations and assist global teams with your expertise in these areas.
  • Depending on your profile, additional responsibilities related to advanced engineering activities, system design, and development tasks may be assigned.
  • Depending on the applicant profile, additional responsibilities could be added on advanced engineering activities and system design and development related tasks.

 

Skills Required:

  1. Mandatory Skill Sets:
    1. Previous experience in Automobile domain is Preferable.
    2. Experience in CAD tools ( like -Creo ) is beneficial
    3. Design of Sheet metal and Casting brackets with GD&T awareness
    4. Awareness of Regulatory norms (Like -Euro-VI , BS-VI)

 

  1. Secondary Skill Sets:
    1. Strong networking and interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication. 
    2. Willingness to learn and develop your own skills and abilities. 

 

Education & Experience Required:

  1. Graduation or post Graduation in Mechanical / Automobile / Production / Industrial Engineering
  2. 2-5 years experience in automotive industry or in mechanical domain
  3. Experience in Design of Exhaust System or Fuel System ( (Diesel, Biodiesel, CNG, LNG, H2-ICE and its key components)
  4. Knowledge of product design & development cycle is beneficial
