Your Future Team?
You’ll become part of a global, collaborative, cross-functional team consisting of System Design Engineers, Hardware and Software Component Owners, and Release Managers. With key teams based in Sweden, India, and Japan, we bring together diverse expertise to develop and deploy advanced embedded systems for commercial vehicles. We operate in an agile environment that encourages open communication, continuous learning.
What will you do?
As a Software Release Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing integration of software components into vehicle systems and managing the software release process. This role ensures that software releases are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and align with the Alliance strategic goals. The position requires coordination between cross-functional teams including development, testing, and product management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the integration of software modules developed by various teams to form complete system releases.
- Track Software builds and configure for deployment to Alliance production.
- Define release schedules, monitor progress, and communicate status to stakeholders.
- Support post-release activities, including issue tracking.
- Mainly to secure smooth deployment of rightly configured/calibrated platform Software components to Alliance Initiative.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic/computer science Engineering.
- 3–7 years of experience in the software development, preferably in automotive
- Familiarity with software development tools, version control (Git), and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional teamwork.
- Good understanding of safety standards such as ISO 26262 is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Volvo’s internal toolchain: KOLA, SW Configurator, SEWS, SANTA/MoJ, or comparable systems.
- knowledge of automotive diagnostic standards (UDS, DTCs)
- Understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN.
- Documentation skills for managing configuration traceability and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
