Thanks to our deep technical, business and customer knowledge, we deliver solutions and services for the salesmen, the mechanics and parts personnel at dealerships and other service points such as Spare Parts Assortment, Parts Information, Diagnostics and Repair Information, Service Planning and supporting systems solutions and tools. In Aftermarket Technology we aim at securing that Volvo Group Truck vehicles can be easily maintained to secure uptime. As Senior Technical Information Engineer, you will be working very close with product development and brands representatives & develop Technical Information in order to secure the aftermarket business and provide maximum vehicle uptime for our customers. Actively contribute to provide information for decision in order to deliver the right aftermarket solution.

Your target is to find the optimal aftermarket solutions in synergies between the brands and Volvos Operation targets.         

Above tasks combined with the ability to meet the agreed timelines, cost and quality targets and deliveries of results, proper communication skills when reporting inside and outside projects are also key elements for this assignment

 

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • You as Senior Technical Information engineer, analyse Kola (PDM) and S-note information to create spare part information/ design & function /accessory installation/ body builder instructions/ operator’s manual & schematic diagrams with accepted quality criteria.
  • You will be involving in scope analysis, planning and estimation, technical document production, verification, maintenance of the existing information in aftermarket systems.
  • You will be working very closely with CDC (Competence Development) and support to prepare the training materials.
  • Be accountable for the products that you deliver and be enthusiastic to bring continuous improvements with futuristic ideas.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Graduate/Post Graduate in Mechanical / Automotive engineering or other equivalent education
  • At least/Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar field with E-mob knowledge .
  • Automotive technical knowledge preferably in combination with practical experience
  • Interpersonal skills and analytical skills
  • Quality mind-set and/with end user knowledge
  • Experience with and knowledge of various software packages including word processing, SGML authoring tools, CAD Software (Pro-Engineer, Catia, etc.), and vector based illustration software (Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)
  • Precise, structured with the ability to visualise vehicle fitted components
  • Ability to work in a transversal organization and multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge of project organisation/project management.
  • Good technical  writing and communication skills
  • Knowledge of future technologies (electro and hybrid vehicles) is an added advantage
