What you will do

 

At Volvo Construction Equipment you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will: 

 

  • Create Verification and Validation (V&V) specifications, perform new content analysis and reliability growth test planning based on machine & system specs
  • Lead test planning, cost estimation for tests, monitor data logs and related activities for the projects
  • Perform functional and performance tests on machines as per defined standards.
  • Design & develop test fixtures and maintain calibration of test equipment in the facility.
  • Report test results with actionable recommendations to design engineers.
  • Coordinate with plant production, vendors, and project teams for proto machine readiness; liaise with testing team, technology product groups, project teams and logistics to schedule testing/reliability growth testing.
  • Develop and mentor test engineers/technicians for top-quality output; lead teardowns and benchmarking of products.
  • Dive into root-cause analysis for failures, pioneering improvements in durability, safety, and performance.
  • Role model 5S and promote Safety in work environment

 

Who are you?

 

Do you dream big? We do too, and we are excited to grow together. In this role, you will bring: 

 

  • Experience of 10 – 15 years in automotive or construction equipment testing, hands-on with heavy machinery like Excavators, Loaders, Haulers, Compactors.
  • Keen eye to Safety and 5S. Strong understanding of ISO and HIRA practices
  • Strong project management skills, project leadership experience, and a accumen for digital transformation (Excel dashboards, test automation tools).
  • Bachelor's/ Master' s in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering; certifications in testing, quality, or Six Sigma are game - changers.
  • Field-ready mindset: analytical, communicative, and energized by turning data into durable designs.
  • Experience with both virtual and physical validation correlation.
  • Familiarity with testing equipments and calibration
  • Preferred: Experience applying quality improvement tools, including Lean principles and Six Sigma.
