Who are we and what you will do

Powertrain Engineering Bangalore is a group in new Avatar that will work together with colleagues across the globe to provide world class solutions for propulsion system or subsystem, delivering value for end customers with applications spread across Trucks, busses, trucks, construction equipment and marine. The group belongs to Powertrain Engineering.


Powertrain is one of the main development areas within Volvo AB. It was established and was created to be in the forefront of environment friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.

In the Powertrain team, we are working in a cross-functional set up from system/function design & development, software integration and calibration to verification of our features in products.


We believe teamwork and collaboration is the foundation for great products and an attractive workplace. Therefore, we work in an agile SAFe inspired way where everyone is part of a scrum team of 5-8 colleagues with complementary skills committed to a common purpose. Every team plans their own work and deliver solutions together as a team.

We are currently looking for passionate engineer to join the team who would join Design and Geometrical Architecture.


Purpose & Mission: Provide CAD Design/ Process Automation for Powertrain Engineering

Expectations and responsibilities

  • Lead and drive innovations/Automation initiatives for Design & Architecture team.
  • Study, evaluate and synthesize in detailed way areas of Automation possibilities.
  • Work on already planned/automation proposals
  • Basics of design process involving concept development to industrialization of parts and components.
  • Help in release process activities.
  • Recognized as a dedicated person with the player mindset that takes ownership for the work that needs to be done.
  • Able to work according to Volvo GTT/TTI hardware development processes.
  • Supportive among individuals and different organizations.
  • Working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Recognized as a well-prepared person.

Required skills and experience

  • Mechanical/Automobile/Mechatronics/CS Engineering graduate/post-graduate or equivalent education.
  • Having skills in performing Automotion using Python, PowerBI, CAD design & calculations, good knowledge of GD&T
  • Software skill required: Python, PowerBI, Dbms etc, knowledge of any 3D softwares like Creo, PDM Link
  • Good understanding of Coding, Automation.
  • Knowledge/Awareness of Powertrain technology, materials knowledge.
  • Strong commitment to deliver on time with consistent and strict adherence to quality.
  • Be good learner, independent, pro-active, and continuously strive to improve.
  • Good in presentation and communication skills.
