What you will do

At (ENTITY) you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.

As a Graduate Apprentice Trainee Engineer – You will be part of the software development team to develop and maintain software solutions which are used in most Volvo products..  

 

You will be part of the below roles as part of this Apprenticeship duration:

  • Assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications under supervision of senior developers.
  • Supporting the development team in implementing features, fixing bugs, and optimizing performance.
  • Participating in unit testing, Module testing and regression testing activities.
  • Documenting code, modules, and technical workflows as per project standards.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Using version control systems (e.g., Git) for code check‑in, branching, and merging.
  • Monitoring and reporting on task progress through project management tools (e.g., JIRA)
  • Support flashing and HIL bench setup activities 
  • Work with tools like CANalyzer / CAPL , DaVinci Developer and DaVinci Configurator 

Who are you?

Knowledge and experience: 

  • BE/B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical , Electronics and Communication, or any other relevant engineering discipline 
  • Exposure to at least one programming language such as  Embedded C, Python,  C++
  • Knowledge of communication protocals I2C, SPI and CAN 
  • Exposure to MATLAB modeling and simulation
  • understanding of software development life cycle.
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies in the domain of Embedded Systems.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, ownership of tasks, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to follow coding standards, best practices, and documentation guidelines.
  • Understanding of automotive domain (added advantage)
