About NATS Apprenticeship Program:

 

National Apprenticeship Training Scheme, is a program where Volvo India engages freshly graduated individuals for year-long apprenticeships, providing them with practical training and skills development opportunities within the company’s various functions under Financial Services. it's a way for Volvo to train future workforce members through a structured apprenticeship program.

 

Purpose of the Job:

 

  • To train young Graduate Engineers & make them Industry-ready by involving them in the work of Manufacturing engineering Department such as Process documentation, Tools and Fixture designing and procurement, Time and Method study, Automation Projects etc.
  • GATs gain real time on the job knowledge and the industry gets few tasks completed through them

 

Scope of Work and Accountability:

 

  • Making Process Documentation (Process Sheets, SOPs, Work Instructions, One-point lessons, PFMEAs etc.) under the guidance of ME Engineers
  • Designing and Drafting small Fixtures, Lifting Tackles, Pallets, Assembly Gadgets etc. in software like AutoCAD, Catia, Pro-E, Solid works etc. under the guidance of ME Engineer
  • Conduct Layout studies in view of the manufacturing Process and come up with the modification suggestions
  • Conduct Stopwatch Time Studies to understand standard time and line balancing
  • Prepare Manufacturing BOM, Picklists, Work Centers and Routing in SAP under the supervision of ME Engineers
  • Manage Engineering Changes in the Products and Processes by working cross-functionally
  • To work on small automation projects related to F4T, IoT under the guidance of ME Engineers
  • Attend morning meetings at shop to understand the issues faced during production and update the same in ME meetings to find the suitable solutions
  • Raise PRs for Tools, Tackles, Fixtures etc and follow up with internal and external suppliers to meet the commitments
  • Explain Process documents to Industrial Workers and to make them understand the requirements
  • To follow all the safety norms of the organization
  • To be disciplined towards learning and committed to the outputs of the department
  • Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required:
  • Thorough understanding of Basic Engineering Fundamentals
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office (Particularly, Excel and Power Point)
  • Working Knowledge on AutoCAD and any of the 3D software (Catia, SolidWorks, Pro-E)
  • Basic understanding of ERP (What is ERP and why to use it)
  • Thorough knowledge of Basic Industrial Engineering (Layouts, Methods Study, Time and motion study etc.)
  • Basic Knowledge of F4T & IoT Projects
  • Creative, Innovative and hardworking, Good at communication

 

Relevant Qualification & Experience:

 

  • Full time first class (> 60%) bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics (Preferable), Mechanical, Production or Industrial Engineering, may consider Electronics and Instrumentation as well (Second priority)
  • Experienced on MS Excel & MS Power Point
  • Experienced on AutoCAD, Catia or SolidWorks or Pro-E (Preferable) or any other 3D Software
