About the Role
As a Graduate Apprentice Trainee , you will support the development of customer-specific vehicle adaptations for commercial vehicles. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to help translate customer requirements into robust, manufacturable, and compliant engineering solutions.
This role is designed for a fresh graduate or early-career engineer eager to learn about Volvo’s engineering processes, design standards, and product development environment while contributing to customer-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the team in understanding customer adaptation requirements
• Assist in preparing and modifying design drawings, layouts, and technical documentation
• Learn and apply engineering standards, design guidelines, and internal processes
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Purchase, Logistics, Sales, Quality, and other internal teams
• Support verification of design feasibility and implementation requirements
• Assist in tracking design changes, updates, and technical documentation
• Participate in problem-solving activities, root cause analysis and support issue resolution
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team
• Support review meetings, follow-up actions, and project documentation
Qualifications & expectations
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• Fresh graduate or early-career engineer
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems, design principles, and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with CAD tools and engineering documentation
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Basic understanding of product development or change management processes
• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment
