This specific group covers the scope of  Platform Architecture, Advanced Engineering, Sustainability & Simulation areas under CAST department. The deliveries will span and cover GTT and other business areas & needs as applicable in each functions.

This group comes under CAST Bangalore Department , under Vehicle Engineering, Group Trucks Technologies, which is responsible for ensuring Common Architecture and Shared Technologies requirements and roadmaps at GTT level are set up and governed.

Platform & architecture team defines a robust and scalable platform that enables an efficient product offer and meets future customer and market demands

Platform sustainability , refers to the Center of expertise within substances of concern for products providing guidance to the development of products in line with the Volvo Group’s environmental sustainability ambitions.

Platform Analysis function provides tools, models, methods and expertise to enable vehicle performance evaluation of any given vehicle specifications with high focus on durability, handling, comfort and motion analysis​​

The group collaborates with all functions within GTT and Volvo Group as needed to secure the deliveries in the responsible areas.

We are continuously reinforcing ownership, efficient ways of working and high agile pace in delivering CAST solutions, while working to create and maintain a culture of passion and trust, where we work together and support each other in our daily tasks.

As in CAST, we are organizing to be more future ready and in this journey, we are looking for a Group Manager with passion to lead both technology and people.

Your future responsibilities?

As a Group manager,

• You have a responsibility to secure quality deliveries & technology developments of the group, in close cooperation with stakeholders and CAST department in Gothenburg.
• You have responsibility of managing budget, resource & workload, recruitment & Overall team development to meet both current and future needs.
• You define roles within the team, define individual and team targets and set salaries in consultation with Director of CAST department.
• You shall contribute by participating and driving forums with close collaboration with cross functions including respective vehicle/technology streams, utilizing full competence in the team & the way of working set up.
• You shall work & direct the teams with customer centric mindset and shall drive engineering leadership within the team.
• You shall interface and participate in planning with the team and the stakeholders and ensure commitments towards deliveries by the team. You shall track the progress and have close interactions to adjust for any changes needed
• You shall Build the innovation culture & team’s good contributions in across all functions within the group.
• You drive operational excellence and constantly improve your way of working bringing efficiency in the deliveries. You identify and implement best practice and support the implementation of Strategies within the group and the department.
• As a primary member of the CAST management team, you shall identify, participate and contribute to the various management initiatives towards people & business growth along with GTT Bangalore site initiatives & play key role in implementing the culture transformation journey to meet the organization expectations and goals.

You will be part of the CAST Leadership team, reporting to Director CAST, Bangalore & playing an important role in contributing in setting vision, strategy and be part of the growth story.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent, with strong knowledge in design and development processes.
• Min 12+ year experience from product development, preferably in the automotive industry.
