About the team:
The Vehicle Environment & Safety (VEAS) product development sub-stream is a newly formed organization within Safe & Efficient Driving (SED) at Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT).
VEAS Bangalore is one of the groups within this Technology Area. The responsibility of this group is to Passive Safety as well as specific component/products in the active safety / ADAS areas. The responsibility is global and interaction is needed to all sites within Volvo Group.
About the role:
The group consist of both electronics and software engineering teams responsible to develop and source both electrical components as well as developing inhouse software. As the Group Manager, you will be responsible for the teams and their deliveries with the mandate for the area’s strategy and its people.

Key Responsibilities:
- Accountability for the area, its people, products and deliveries. Enable the teams goal achievement by removing blockers and impediments.
- Recruitment of new team members, retention and to be a driving force in shaping the collaboration and culture within the teams and between the teams.
- Coaching and to work proactively with competence development & growth ensuring that the right skills are within the teams.
- Network and collaborate with relevant interfaces within the larger Volvo GTT organization to enable collective deliveries in the end.
- Staying on top of tools, technologies and industry developments relevant to the work of the teams.
Who are you?
- M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in embedded software, hardware and system development, preferably in the Automotive industry
- Preferably previous people manager experience with several years of experience in embedded software and electronics in either ADAS/Powertrain/Electromobility
- Very strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team is crucial. Knowledge in building high performing teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as you will interact with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with Lean principles are highly desirable.
