Operator & Electronic Systems (OES) Bengaluru is part of Global OES, Technology at Volvo Construction Equipment. We design the Software solutions of the future machines and Services with the purpose of making them more efficient and environmentally friendly.   

Articulated Hauler (AH) team is responsible for feature development of the pioneering Articulated  Haulers combing decades of Innovation, cutting edge technology and sustainability leading to Next Generation machines , electromobility and autonomous solutions collaborating with Sweden team.

New Technology Center in Bangalore is being established as it is essential for us to have a strong presence in key markets to remain competitive and agile. OES Bengaluru will be part of Bangalore Technology center (BTC) when it is in place.

About You

Your leadership experience gives you confidence in leading technology through people. You have interest in our customer’s pains and gains. You have a solid background in Embedded Software Development area and agile experience.

You also have a true can-do attitude, a strong quality focus and a personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set for your unit.

What is the Job?

As Head of Software Development – AH group, you are working to build the team with capability and capacity, making the most of individual talents. You have the accountability for the QDCF of deliveries and also taking active part in tactical and operational plans of the department. You will be part of the local OES Leadership team and by that contributing to the department strategy.

The Mission is to

• Manage Software Development – AH group in Volvo CE OES department at Bengaluru
• Responsible for project execution and delivery with competence in order to deliver technical solutions within the cost, quality and timeliness defined in the project scope
• Responsible for compliance with the determined work processes in order to ensure quality delivery of the project
• Responsible for compliance to design guidelines defined locally and globally for embedded software area
• Manage relationship within technology organization locally and globally
• Define short- and long-term need of competencies and resources
• Responsible for compliance to legislative and environmental related requirements within the operational field
• Prepare, Own and maintain respective cost center budget
• Responsible for development and appraisal management of direct reports
• Secure succession planning

Knowledge and experience

• Bachelor / Master degree in ECE / EEE
• 14+ years of experience in Embedded Software Development domain in Automotive / Aerospace / Construction / Mining industry
