Mission
As Head of Purchasing Strategy & Digitalization APAC, you drive and manage performance of your department Purchasing strategy, processes and digitalization standpoint. You will lead a team of experts in Digital factory, Business Improvement leaders, Projects leaders & process controllers located in Bangalore & China and be responsible for execution of digital solutions to purchasing community. In addition, you will also be responsible for Group Synergies Purchasing function. You will work collaboratively within GTP including PS&D strategic line organization. You will also work collaboratively with key stakeholders like, D&IT, FCA/AS, GTO, etc.,.
Reporting To: Head of Group Trucks Purchasing APAC & Strategic line to Head of PS&D GTP
Location: Bangalore India
Main Responsibilities
- Be a member in GTP APAC leadership teams and in an active way contribute to the development of the departments
- Lead Volvo Group Synergies and identify and steer the possible synergy opportunities between different Volvo group purchasing entities & the JV’S. You will have a strong connection other PU organization driving/fostering all synergy opportunities, you will also build and lead a PU network that will develop and steer all the topics connected to PU thereby leveraging on all opportunities
- Ensure KPI fulfillment and performance results
- Define long- & short-term objectives for the department & communicate effectively to ensure deliveries accordingly.
- Responsible for purchasing process governance, optimization and improvements
- Identify & Drive Continuous Improvements ideas based on business needs and strategies.
- Ensure close collaboration with strategic line on global responsibilities
- Ensure collaboration and alignment with direct & indirect stakeholders.
- Responsible for managing resource related to digital factory and coach / guide the team to deliver initiatives effectively
- Support in building the budget on costing and resource requirements
- Build and drive business cases related to digital solutions / process optimization / new solution
- Drive implementation of Value-added solutions across line functions
- Skill and competency development of the team based on new emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Smart apps, Cyber security etc
- Proactively work with D&IT to come up with solutions to address purchasing needs and drive digitalization projects
- Drive change management across purchasing line organizations to ensure best utilization of solutions
- Manage resources by attracting, recruiting best talents, manage competence development and retain competent resources
- You will be responsible for compliance in accordance with the Volvo processes, the Code of Conduct and the Volvo Values.
Competence & Experience
- University degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
- Having knowledge and worked in IT is an added advantage
- Worked in automotive purchasing and having Knowledge of purchasing processes
- Excellent decision-making skills, considering risks and opportunities, with an ownership mindset
- Continuous Improvement and Excellence mindset with good communication skills
- Strong analytical, prioritization and negotiating skills
- Strong business acumen with very good technical and digital expertise
