About the Program:
The Industry Immersion Fellowship at Volvo Group is a unique program that enables university faculty and post-doctoral researchers to gain hands-on industry experience by working full-time with our technical team at Volvogroup.
Electro-mobility is one of the main technology development area within Volvo Group, which is at the forefront of sustainable transport solutions for tomorrow. At Group Trucks Technology Electro-mobility Bangalore, we are currently looking for a Senior Simulation Engineer to join our System simulation team working on Electric Driveline.
What do we do?
We build virtual models that help in creating world-class solutions for electro-mobility systems and delivering customer values for Volvo business units such as trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine applications. We believe in front loading development activities during early phase for optimized performance and Cost through analysis, insights and recommendations. We understand the customer usage and performance of our products, for providing solutions throughout entire product life cycle, from idea investigation and concept evaluation to industrialization and maintenance!
We build high fidelity models for System performance prediction/optimization, right sizing and digital twin. We work with cross-functional teams from different parts of the entity, from sales, data, regulation and development teams.
Who are you?
We believe that, to be successful in the position, you are a team player and have strong experience in simulation and analysis area involving model based development and Verification for Software/Electrical/Electronic areas. You have a willingness to learn and take more responsibility with can-do attitude.
We also believe that you have below mentioned key skills :
- Master of Science in Electronics/Automotive or equivalent
- Expert in System simulation and analysis through building high fidelity models
- Expert knowledge of Vehicle performance simulations and SIL
- Highly proficient in MATLAB/Simulink
- A strong academic foundation in control systems theory like state-space models and feedback control. Strong skills in data analysis and automation to leverage fleet data for model correlation and controller validation.
- Familiar with the fundamental concepts of battery management, including State of Health (SOH) and State of Charge (SOC).
- Good knowledge in system engineering concepts and understanding of requirements
