Mainframe Solution Architect
The mission of the Solution Architect:
Your mission is to define and design the architecture for Distribute Products & Cross Solutions within the Digital & IT CPA Production Logistics, ensuring maximum value from IT investments. You are typically part of a solution and/or product development team and you may also contribute to other teams in areas where you have specific expertise. You collaborate with the Solution Center Architect for the strategic direction and follow established principles and guidelines, ensuring adherence to standards. Your focus is on the technical decisions being made regarding solutions and how they meet business needs. You are a professional, leading and contributing to procuring or planning, developing, deploying, and maintaining business-driven solutions within Volvo Group. Your responsibilities can also include functional leadership roles within Architecture.
Responsibilities as the Solution Architect:
Responsible for securing IT architectural compliance following best practices and Volvo Group architectural frameworks.
Resolve architectural issues e.g., escalated from projects & solutions.
Secure excellent IT architectural competence through the IT Architect network for the concerned solutions and projects.
Drive the work needed for integrations with other systems together with their representative
Manage IT integration solutions using relevant platforms, support services, methods, and guidelines
Ensure usage of shared technical standards, tools, and platforms
Align with Volvo Group Security directives and fulfilling the customer demands for information security
Translate business requirements into IT architecture and describe them through
a selection of architecture and design artifacts.
Secure alignment of Architecture design with architecture principles from One North Star
Collaborate with other architects in the Production Logistics
Wanted Profile:
Mainframe COBOL (Mandatory)
Batch: JCLs (Mandatory)
Database: DB2 (Mandatory)
IMS knowledge (good to have)
Stored Procedures (good to have)
Tools: IDz & Endevor
As we use more and more MQ, knowledge on MQ can be considered as ‘added advantage’ (not mandatory).
Apart from technical skills, we need good problem solving and analytical skills.
Good communication & presentation skills.
