Key Responsibilities:

Your role is to support in development and execution of analytical and data driven solution for battery management in Volvo Energy focusing on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

You will work on developing time-series forecasting and optimization algorithms (linear/non-linear) for improving BESS operations. You are also expected to support in the thermal management modelling of the batteries/inverters/other electrical components using a 1-D simulation software.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and currently pursuing PhD. in applied Mechanical/Electrical/Mathematics/AI-ML Engineering or another equivalent field with good analytical skills.

Willingness to explore and understand about Li-ion battery technology is a must.

 

Experience:

Candidate should have hands-on experience in 1D modelling of thermal systems such as HVAC, cooling systems, modelling fluid flow.

Experience on modelling heat generation from electrical components like battery, inverters, etc

Experience in mathematical modelling and optimization problems (linear/non-linear)

Experience in ML project workflows: data ingestion, data preprocessing, feature engineering, model building and model validation.

Experience on building/training time-series forecasting models

Experience with Business Intelligence tools: PowerBI is preferred.

Familiarity with ML frameworks like scikit-learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch, etc

 

 

Technical Strengths:

Deep understanding of heat transfer and thermodynamics

Knowledge of HVAC systems, heat exchangers, fluid dynamics

Good command in programming languages such as Python. Experience of data science python libraries

Good experience in data exploration, data visualization and pattern recognition techniques.

Team player

Good communication and networking skills
