About this Program

 

Objective: To apply rich knowledge and research mindset and empower them to build rewarding and satisfying careers in the fields of transport and infrastructure.
Structure: Paid program of nine-month duration
Eligibility: PhD Scholars registered with any university in India or abroad in a relevant academic discipline , doing projects in specifically identified areas (Currently pursuing PhD candidates ONLY ).
Place of Work: Bangalore (WFO all 5 days)

 

We are currently looking for a passionate engineer to join Electromobility team in the Electrical Simulation domain for Energy Storage System Battery Packs.

We are responsible for the development transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drive the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. The importance of electromobility is growing every day and simulation plays a key role in the product development life cycle in electromobility.

You have experience from the automotive industry with great attitude working cross functional and have a willingness to learn and take more responsibility. 

 

Key Responsibilities are:  

  • Perform literature study to benchmark the simulations in electrical and power electronics domain
  • Establish electromagnetic simulation methods for electric vehicle components to analyse the compliance with standards (Eg: Onboard Charger, DC-DC Convertor)
  • Power electronics simulation to model components like DC-DC Convertor and transformer
  • Model the component CAD, perform simulations and validate results against experimental data to improve simulation confidence
  • Collaborate with system engineers to integrate electromagnetic designs with overall system requirements. 
  • Analyse simulation outputs to improve the design and propose solutions.
  • Develop and benchmark new simulation methods and tools
  • Define requirements/ tests/ data to develop models

 

Required skills and experience: 

  • Research background in power electronics and EMI/EMC domain
  • Experience in EMI/EMC testing preferred
  • Strong domain knowledge in electromagnetic domain and standards required. 
  • Simulation tool experience of Ansys Maxwell and Simulia CST Studio preferred along with any CAD tool experience
  • Excellent communication skills to convey the simulation outputs to global stakeholders
