About the program
Objective: To apply rich knowledge and research mindset and empower them to build rewarding and satisfying careers in the fields of transport and infrastructure.
Structure: Paid program of nine-month duration
Eligibility: PhD Scholars registered with any university in India or abroad in a relevant academic discipline, currently employed or doing projects in specifically identified areas (Currently pursuing PhD).
Place of Work: Bangalore
What you will do
At Volvo Group Trucks Technology, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will:
- Work with the Vehicle Geometrical Architecture (VGA) Team under Vehicle Strategy & Integration Department in Group Trucks Technology, Vehicle Engineering, Bengaluru
- Work as a Research Scholar (PhD.) and develop the Road Map for Flexible Cables Simulations – Methodology for Mechanical Simulations
- Investigate and Analyse existing Standard Simulation Protocols and device strategic Roadmaps based on exhaustive corelation trials across different tools and Methods.
- Device co-relation and test methods to validate Physical Vs Simulation result interpretation.
- Create standard boundary condition protocols & Material Database optimization for simulation methods.
- Collaborate with Volvo’s best minds on the subject matter to work on niche problem statements that need strategic direction from a Research point of view.

- Proven Academic / Industrial experience in Mechanical simulations in the areas of Static & Dynamic Loading, Durability, Vibrations and Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Proven Academic / Industrial experience in Material testing / co-relation for simulation use cases.
- Exposure and basic understanding of Automotive design and testing requirements.
- Exposure and understanding on non-metallic material testing for load and durability.
- Exposure to design principles, Automotive design and product development will be an advantage
- Bachelors / Masters in domains of Mechanical Design & Simulation
- Currently pursuing Phd in domain identical / relatable to position
