We are looking for a Product Safety Manager

The Trucks Technology & Industrial (TTI) Division is the technology development division of the Volvo Group, providing all our business areas with technical solutions that support our customers today and in the future.

In this position, you will be part of a global, highly experienced team handling several aspects of safety across all technologies and throughout the complete product lifecycle. This includes traffic safety research, accident investigation, functional safety, and fire safety.

What you will work with

As Product Safety Manager, you will lead our safety work and be an ambassador of safety in our company, acting as a role model for a strong safety culture. You will be responsible for ensuring that potential safety‑related issues are addressed and brought to closure, whether on products in operation or during development.

In addition, this role will serve as the primary Product Safety representative for projects led from India, ensuring strong regional ownership, alignment, and support. You will also collaborate closely with global teams and contribute to Product Safety activities across worldwide projects, enabling seamless integration of safety work across regions

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new product development with Proactive Safety activities.
  • Perform safety investigations and ensure required actions are performed to bring the investigations to closure.
  • Participate in Product Safety projects in India such as SITIS (The Sweden-India Transport, Innovation and Safety)
  • Support and provide guidance in ongoing problem solving and taskforces.
  • Participate in and bring up safety topics from new developments that need safety guidance in Product Safety Coordination Forum (PSCF)
  • Secure handling of product safety improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Serve as Accident Investigator for India.

Key Requirements

  • B.E/ M. Tech Degree in Mechanical / Electrical, electronic or equivalent
  • 7+ years’ experience from product development in the automotive industry
  • Knowledge about Truck application and customer usage is a strong merit.
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in product safety development and automotive safety standards
  • Engineering knowledge (mechanical, electronics, software)
  • Understanding of product liability and global compliance
  • Excellent communication skills in English
