Project Associate - Legal Compliance and Contract Management

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. India Statutory Compliance Management Tool – Hands-On Support

  • Overall management of the Compliance management tool deployed within the company;
  • Coordinating with stakeholders within the company and outside for regular update on the tool;
  • Making necessary patch updates on the tool;
  •  Assist in updating and maintaining the compliance tracker with Central & State-level statutory obligations(e.g., Companies Act, GST, PF/ESI, Labour Codes, Shops & Establishments, Pollution Control, etc.);
  • Set up due-date reminders and event-based calendars for filings, renewals, and inspections;
  • Help generate monthly/quarterly compliance dashboards (e.g., % on-time filings, overdue items, entity-wise status);
  • Assist in user training for plant/location heads and department owners on tool usage;
  • Flag non-compliances or gaps to seniors and help prepare escalation reports. 

 

2. Contract Management Tool – Daily Operations Support 

  • Help upload, tag, and organize contracts in the CLM system using standard templates;
  • Assist in setting up approval workflows and tracking contract status (draft → review → execution); 
  • Extract key obligations, renewal dates, and payment terms from executed contracts;
  • Send automated reminders for renewals, terminations, or milestone reviews;
  • Support legal counsels by pulling contract summaries, clause reports, or version histories from the tool;
  •  Maintain contract metadata (party, value, type, expiry, jurisdiction) for accurate reporting.

 

3. Support to Legal Counsels 

  • Conduct basic legal research on Indian laws, rules, and notifications;
  • Help draft simple legal documents– NDAs, MOUs, letters, notices – under supervision;
  • Prepare case summaries, checklists, and meeting minutes;
  •  Coordinate with internal teams (HR, Finance, Plants) for document collection and follow-ups;
  • Assist in filing preparation for audits, inspections, or board meetings. 

 

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of all tool updates, user queries, and support tickets; 
  • Prepare weekly progress reports on tool usage, compliance status, and support tasks. 

 

Qualifications & Requirements 

 

Education 

 

  • LLB / B.Com + LLB / B.A. + LLB / Company Secretary (CS) – Foundation/Executive passed;

 

 

Skills Required:

  • Basic understanding of Indian statutory laws (Companies Act, GST, Labour Laws, etc.);
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for trackers and reports);
  • Quick learner – able to grasp legal tech tools fast;
  •  Good communication (written & verbal) in English/regional language is a plus;
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow processes strictly.
