Quality Engineer 

 

Purpose 

 

The quality engineer handles engineering in quality assurance and lessons learned activities. Furthermore, the quality engineer acts as an ambassador for quality and contributes to a strong quality culture.  

  

Responsibilities 

 

  • Coach engineering in performing quality-related activities in development projects, e.g screening, quality assurance plan, FMEA, FTA, DFA, RTS 
  • Provide training in quality methods  
  • Secure that thorough lessons learned is made in the PIL process 
  • Highlight to the project the significant issues from “quality history” on current products. 
  • Summarize high risks identified from Quality tools, with the final product and final customer perspective, and present the risks to the project and line management. 
  • Escalate quality concerns and issues using established escalation procedures 
  • Update and improve the quality Way-of-Working e.g., by creating/improving/adopting templates, training material and quality assurance processes, etc. 
  • Monitor & track PIL issues for the department and publish dashboards 
  • Provide warranty related analysis 

 

Competence 

 

The needed level of competence could vary with size and complexity of the assignment.  

  • BE/B.Tech in a relevant area  
  • Quality tools’ knowledge – FMEA, 8D process 
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills ; Cross-functional and teamwork skills  
  • Ability to work in a complex technical environment.  
  • An agile mindset  
  • Good analytical skills 
  • Good verbal and documentation skills 
  • Experience of performing and leading quality analyses, e.g., FMEA and Fishbone diagram 
  • Experience of working with suppliers of the automotive industry is preferred 
  • Experience of providing training to, and coaching of, individuals and groups 
  • Experience of system, hardware, software development and verification activities in the automotive industry 
  • Data analysis competence and Analytical skills 
  • Knowledge of agile way of working 
  • Knowledge of vehicle technology
