Job Description:
Senior Drawing Checker
Electrical Wiring Drawing Check is part of Electrical Electronics and Vehicle Connectivity team within GTT. We are responsible to secure right quality of technical documentation (Wiring Drawing and BOM) & to ensure that all projects follow the PDM logic.
Electrical Wiring Drawing Check team is responsible to secure the Wiring design and the release documentation to comply with applicable standards, instructions and guidelines. We are working globally with all sites & involved in both new vehicle program & Maintenance projects.
We are looking for a key player who has the ability to build Trust , Lead and to manage networking across the engineering team.
Role Description
Drawing check Lead will be responsible to check & validate the documentation of the Wiring drawings and methods and implementing the best practices.
For this position the main responsibilities are:
- Ensuring timely and complete execution check of planned Wiring Drawing and BOM approvals in respective tools and approvals in system.
- To study Wiring Drawings and check & approve drawings according to various wiring manufacturing process, VOLVO standard manufacturing guidelines and ensuring that changes made based on manufacturing feasibility does not affect in vehicle fitment.
- Checking of all seals, plugs and terminals with respect to wire gauges and devices Ensuring the BOM (Bill Of Material), DFM (Design For Manufacturability) Meet the requirement and the time required for making the harness.
- Follow the release process, Process Instructions, GDIs and ISO Standards
- Provide knowledge and expertise and process adherence to drawing checkers in the team
- Must have global mindset to collaborate & work with engineers from different commodities within site & other global sites.
- Take ownership in developing engineering process & method documents in Wiring drawing checker perspective.
- Monitor and follow the quality of documentation/DCN check on monthly basis
- Contribute in continuous improvement activities
- Active participation in Checkers Sync and other networking meetings
- By leading weekly workload meeting of DCN check team and to update the status to respective teams in the department.
- Owning the site manager work, managing database management of connectors, terminals, seals and cavity plugs
- Assigning terminals to connector based on wire size and cavity size
- Maintaining and Updating the APS rules in system and other tools.
- Master trainer for Wiring engineers on using the DRC for releases
- Leading the CoP for Wiring documentation practices
- Key user for pilots related to tools, methods and digitalization PoVs.
- Team Leader skills with ability to delegate, balance and manage load and team on release approvals.
Competence requirements
Must have:
- Knowledge on various Automotive Electrical Wiring harness manufacturing process
- Design & Wiring Drawing check experience in automotive industry
- Good knowledge of Automotive Electrical Wiring Schematics and Harness Creation and Knowledge on Vehicle systems and Vehicle functionality
- Knowledge in 2D electrical wiring design tool for creating and managing complex wiring harness designs, including bundle configuration, component placement, and design rule checks.
- Product Development Process Knowledge.
- Driving, delivery focused and service minded.
- Good communication skills and managing the balancing act with team and stakeholders
- Ability to connect and communicate well with engineers at different locations.
- Interest in working with people as well as technology and processes.

- Good to have CAD related skills and understanding on the geometrical architecture of truck.
Educational Background:
B.E, B. Tech, – in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Total Experience :10-15 years
