We are looking to hire a skilled embedded software engineer to join our dynamic software team. As an embedded software engineer, you will be responsible for executing complete embedded software life cycles for company and client hardware. 

Your key responsibilities also include: - 

• Understand and share information about the planning of the global GTT Software baselines intended for all relevant Brands like Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, VTNA/MACK etc.
• Coordinate release activities with internal and external stakeholders and make sure that each part of the chain has the right information.
• Handle release documentation of the software in Volvo systems (Kola, Configurator, SEWS2…).
• Prepare checklists together with the Agile Product Owners and organize reviews of these in front of release recommendations to ensure control of the software quality status.
• Be chairperson of the internal release review meetings to recommend go /no-go decisions and identify relevant Software Maturity levels for the delivery based on identified risks, criticality, and business value.
• Be prepared to take part in release board ceremonies as a representative for Thermal Management.
• Identify and lead improvements to enable better quality and faster and more automated software releases. 
• Represent Thermal Management in global forums like High Cadence High-Quality Community of Practice. Analysing and enhancing efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources
• Integrate and validate new product designs.
• Support software QA and optimize I/O performance. Provide post-production support.
• Interface with hardware design and development
• Support cross functional Teams with control logic and AI/ML implementations.
• Contribute with component and system engineers to define and verify the actions agreed related to virtual simulation in FMEA, to reduce the probability of failure occurrences.
• Establish a strong network with global counterparts and cross functions.
• Take full responsibility and independently deliver the planned tasks as well as guide junior analysts within the software team.
• Develop the strategy to integrate data analytics and machine learning in the Software ultimately leading to development of thermal management digital twins in collaboration with the data analytics and machine learning team

Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group.

Relevant Experience: 

• ME/Mtech/BE/BTech in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science with minimum 8+ years of experience in Automotive Embedded SW development within the distributed systems & Thermal management and/or Relevant Automotive System
• Deep understanding of embedded software development, verification, validation, configuration management and software release processes
• Experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
• Interest in application of digital solutions and data analytics to improve flow and efficiency
• Good knowledge in Vector Autosar, Matlab, Simulink, C, C++ and Python, ASPICE Process
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
• Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
• Critical thinker.
• Knowledge of the product development life cycle and change management activities for maintenance are required for this role.
• Leading tasks independently, good planning and monitoring skills.
• Experience in future technologies (e-MOB, Fuel Cell, automation) in Software Development
• Good in compiling and presenting information verbally and in writing.

Merits :

Knowledge of Volvo GTT Electrical and Electronics Architectures and software release processes and tool chain is considered a merit, especially SEWS2, SW Configurator and KOLA
