What will you do?
At Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.
You will implement innovative ideas, drive simulation and virtual development, and collaborate to make impactful changes, making you the ideal CFD Simulation Engineer for Volvo Powertrain Engineering.
Your future team
The Flow Simulation group consists of engineers working in 0D /1D/3D on fuel agnostic powertrains. We develop and simulate advanced methods to minimize testing, focusing on reducing fuel consumption and enhancing emission compliance. This approach not only improves the overall quality but also elevates the features of our products.

Your main aim is to develop Exhaust Aftertreatment System (EATS) CFD flow models. But it never ends there instead, with your problem-solving mindset you will be able to analyse simulation results, recommend improvements and design solutions, perform concept studies, and cooperate with colleagues to deliver the best results to the projects/internal customers. As an employee at Powertrain Engineering, you will also take an active part to continuous improvements of your work.

Competencies
- Extensive experience in CFD simulations, preferably Star CCM+ or equivalent commercially used CFD simulation tools and geometry preparation using ANSA.
- Positive and a wide “can-do” attitude. You will lead your own work.
- BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile/Chemical Engineering with relevant experience in CFD simulation & analysis
- Good knowledge of EATS, EATS system development and combustion engine technology development
- Strong ability to work in cross functional teams as well as being able to work independently
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Strong commitment to deliver on time with consistent and strict adherence to quality
- Structured way of working
- Be independent, pro-active, and continuously strive to improve
- Proficient in English, written and spoken
- Knowledge in java/python/MATLAB will be a plus
