Position: Senior Engineer, Chassis Structures
Role (Purpose of the job)
Senior Engineer for Frame rails, Cross member, Chassis Interfaces, Chassis ladder.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take lead in design and development of frame rails, cross members, chassis interfaces and secure deliveries of chassis frame assembly.
- Participation in defining clear roadmap within responsible areas in line with organization’s strategic interests and understanding in the broader business context.
- Innovative mindset and development of vehicles structures based on BEV / ICE / alternate energy propulsion systems.
- Handling of vehicle packaging, virtual durability verification and physical validation needs of respective system.
- Work on selecting raw materials, verification requirements thereof and handling of surface treatment requirements.
- Delivers value through supporting decision-making process even under ambiguity based on up-to-date market understanding, collaborates with suppliers to co-develop product solutions.
- Work closely with project managers and cross functional teams to anticipate process steps and risks and propose mitigation plans.
- Product maintenance: Solving quality issues and market support.
- Advanced engineering of system and components to meet future demand.
- Engineering documentation of drawings, technical requirement, functional specification and managing change.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- BE/ME – Mechanical/Automobile Engineering equivalent with 8-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Hands-on work experience required with structural design background, being analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge of material standards, development experience with global supplier base is required.
- Experience of virtual verification and physical validation is required.
- Good knowledge of application of GD&T as applied to chassis ladder and its parts.
- Extensive hands-on experience in Creo and PDM software, exposure to vehicle packaging is required.
