What is the Job?


As a Senior System Design Engineer – You will be part of the product development team to develop and maintain software solutions which are used in most Volvo CE products such as for example Haulers, Wheel loaders, Excavators.   

 

The Mission is to:

 

  • Be responsible for model-based system engineering using Systems Modeling Language -SysML or Unified Modeling Language -UML.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders for requirements and design alignment, ensuring seamless understanding of the product from concept to delivery.
  • Come out with the efficient proposals for the product/component based on Customer needs.
  • Review design, verification and validation test plans, and system teardown inspection reports and benchmarking.
  • Keep a track of local and global certification/standard/regulations requirements
  • Have a sound understanding of the software architecture, software roadmaps and work closely with the software teams to realise the product features.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Master’s/bachelor’s in engineering.
  • Good Knowledge in model-based system engineering using Systems Modeling Language -SysML or Unified Modeling Language -UML.
  • Good Knowledge in SPARX Enterprise Architect.
  • Good Knowledge in Software architecture.
  • Good cross functional leadership with minimum 6 years of experience in various Electrical and Electronic domains.
  • Excellent knowledge of the products and network in the company especially in Construction Equipment area.
  • Good theoretical Knowledge in Embedded C or C++ programming, working Knowledge in Python/Scripting language is an advantage.
  • Knowledge in Functional safety process areas for safety analysis, concept design, requirements definition and validation, is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to Agile/SAFe Scrum methodologies with knowledge of tools like JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket are recommended.
  • Good to have Requirement engineering certification.
