Senior Test Systems Design Engineer

Create / Build harnesses, Interface boxes and simulation models required to run the rigs. Bengaluru Technology Centre is part of Global Technology at Volvo Construction Equipment. We design, develop and verify the Software solutions of the future machines and Services with the purpose of making them more efficient and environmentally friendly.        

 

About You

Self-sufficient, takes lead on own tasks and able to work/plan independently in your area of expertise. Self-driven proactive engagement with learning opportunities. You have a solid background in HIL rig development and maintenance incl Automation.  In this role you will create an efficient and trustful day-to-day operation. You also have a true can-do attitude, a strong quality focus and a personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set.

 

 

What is the Job?


As Senior Test Systems Design Engineer– You will be working with the team in building the Software Test lab infrastructure and tools incl Automation,

The Mission is to

 

  • Develop, update, and maintain HIL rigs and Test systems
  • Good knowledge of ECUs and their interfaces in HIL and test environments
  • Support software verification environments and lab setups
  • Troubleshoot issues in Test systems and laboratory infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Measurement hardware (DAQ, FISC), Signal types and control systems
  • Hands on Experience in LabVIEW, PLC or experience with scripting tools
  • Assist in managing updates and modifications to harnesses and interface components for existing test systems
  • Maintain and improve Test system software frameworks and tools
  • Support users of HIL rigs/ Test Systems with technical assistance and documentation
  • Contribute to maintenance, calibration, and continuous improvement activities
  • Collaborating with local and global teams on test infrastructure development

 

 

You are expected to:

  • Have an open multi-brand and multi-cultural mindset.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be business and customer oriented.
  • Have Knowledge and experience of analogue and digital circuit design
  • Have good understanding of communication protocols such as CAN, RS232, TCP/IP.
  • Understanding of ECU interfaces, inputs/outputs, communication networks, and integration in test environments
  • Good knowledge of oscilloscope usage for electrical signal measurement, debugging, and analysis
  • Support ordering and coordination of lab items, test components, and harness materials

 

 

Knowledge and experience

 

  • Bachelor / Master degree in ECE / EEE
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in HIL, Test setup and Automation in Automotive / Aerospace industry
