We are looking to hire a skilled embedded software engineer to join our dynamic software team. As an embedded software engineer, you will be responsible for executing complete embedded software life cycles for company and client hardware. 

 

Your Future Team :

Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. 

We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Gothenburg & Bengaluru, and we have close cooperation with the sites in Greensboro and Lyon. 

We understand the final customer needs and apply our knowledge to develop technical concepts and solutions that satisfy customer and business needs. The work is based on innovation, shared technology, common architecture, and brand uniqueness.

Mandatory Skills: 

  • ME/Mtech/BE/BTech in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Science
  • Minimum 10+ years of software development experience in Automotive Embedded SW development within the distributed systems & Thermal management and/or Relevant Automotive System
  • Good knowledge in Matlab, Simulink, Embedded C, ASPICE Process
  • Experience in hands-on control Software development and troubleshooting on embedded targets.
  • Proven experience in embedded systems design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
  • Critical thinker.
  • Strong documentation and writing skills.
  •  

Adequate knowledge:

  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
  • Knowledge of the product development life cycle and change management activities for maintenance are required for this role.
  • Leading tasks independently, good planning and monitoring skills.
  • Experience in future technologies (e-MOB, Fuel Cell, automation) in Software Development
  • Good in compiling and presenting information verbally and in writing.

Should have experience in leading small teams (8+)

  • Responsible for complete Cabin Climate Control software(Driver/IO/Application/Parameter calibration)
  • Developing System Software Requirements, Developing timeplans/roadmaps
  • Creating project plans/charter for specific epics
  • Take full responsibility and independently deliver the planned tasks as well as guide junior analysts within the software team.
  • Design/Implement I/O and Application software of thermal embedded devices and systems like HVAC/Cabin Climate Systems, Cooling/Heating systems
  • Function Development of Feed forward logic and control systems.
  • Driving Functional/Non functonal Diagnosis logics software systems
  • Analyzing and enhancing efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources
  • Integrate and validate new product designs.
  • Support software QA and optimize I/O performance.
  • Provide post-production support.
  • Interface with hardware design and development
  • Support cross functional Teams with control logic and AI/ML implementations.
  • Contribute with component and system engineers to define and verify the actions agreed related to virtual simulation in FMEA, to reduce the probability of failure occurrences.
  • Establish a strong network with global counterparts and cross functions.
  • Develop the strategy to integrate data analytics and machine learning in the models ultimately leading to development of thermal management digital twins in collaboration with the data analytics and machine learning team
